Assemble all the ingredients. Roast sesame seed in low flame for 2-3 minutes till light brown in color. Make a fine paste in a grinder with all the ingredients shown in the 1st photo.

In a kadhai, add 2-3 tbsp sesame oil. Temper with mustard seed, cumin seed, asafoetida and curry leaves. Add the paste in the kadhai, sauté for 2mins. Then add water. Cook for another 2mins and switch off the burner.

Collect the sesame chutney in a serving bowl.
