Edamame in Hyderabadi Bagara Khana by me is an interesting twist to the authentic Rice dish from the City. It's a popular one made on almost every special occasions and also on Weekends to celebrate with family and friends especially the relatives too.
I have used Edamame Beans in this lovely looking Rice dish making it even more delicious, healthier and colourful. I usually freeze my Edamame in ziplock bags to use it accordingly. This way they are absolutely handy.
You will love it for sure. Try it for your families and treat them to a special meal on a special day. I wish you all a healthy and a happy life.
The best part is that this can be packed to School or College or even the Office and makes for an excellent Lunchbox idea too. There is no need of any extra side dishes too. Pickle and Papad are enough when outside. And if enjoying this at home, you can make any and many side dishes of your choice especially if making for a feast with immediate relatives or even special guests.

Steps
- 1
Heat oil and add the whole spices like cinnamon, cardamom and caraway seeds. Fry for a minute and then add the sliced onion. Add in the ginger garlic paste and saute on a low to medium high heat for 3-4 minutes until the onions are lightly browned.
- 2
Add mint leaves and slit green chillies. Also add the edamame too. Stir fry for a minute or two before adding 8 cups of water. Adjust salt according to taste and let the water boil.
- 3
After it starts boiling vigorously, add soaked rice to it. Mix well and allow it to cook on a high heat for the first 5 minutes and then simmer on a low heat until a nice aroma emanates in your kitchen and the rice looks done. It gets done in 20-25 minutes. Halfway through the process, add the cooked black beans to the pot.
- 4
Fluff it up. Serve it piping hot with any side dish both dry and gravy based. Enjoy! Yum!
