Host a yakitori party at home! Enjoy these easy tsukune (chicken meatball) skewers using your microwave and broiler. This recipe uses a simple salt seasoning. Inspired by the tsukune recipe from Orange Page's '15-Minute Appetizers.'

Finely chop the green onion (scallion).

In a bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped green onion, potato starch, soy sauce, and sake. Mix thoroughly by hand until the mixture becomes sticky.

Shape the mixture onto bamboo skewers. If it's too sticky, press it onto the skewers on a cutting board to help it stick.

Microwave the skewers for about 3 minutes, until the color turns white and they are mostly set.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Arrange the skewers on a broiler pan and broil for 3–4 minutes, checking for browning.

Once browned, turn the skewers over and broil for another 3–4 minutes until golden and cooked through.
