Easy Microwave Tamagoyaki (Japanese Rolled Omelette) for Bento with 1 Egg
Make tamagoyaki for your bento quickly and easily using a microwave! I wanted to make bento as simply and quickly as possible, so I used the microwave. There’s less cleanup, making it super convenient for busy mornings!
Steps
- 1
Line a microwave-safe container with plastic wrap and add all the ingredients. Mix well.
- 2
Fold the edges of the plastic wrap over the mixture to loosely cover it.
- 3
Microwave at 600W for 1 minute 20 seconds. (Adjust the time as needed for your microwave.)
- 4
After microwaving, immediately place the wrapped egg onto a towel. Using the towel, roll it up like a sushi mat to shape it into a round log. Be careful, it's hot!
- 5
Leave it wrapped in the plastic wrap until it cools completely.
- 6
Once cooled, slice into your desired sizes.
- 7
Perfect for your bento!
