Easy Appetizer: Pan-Seared Edamame with Toasted Sesame Oil

This pan-seared edamame with the aroma of toasted sesame oil makes a perfect appetizer! The flavor of the edamame is even richer than when boiled. It's also great for lunchboxes.
Recipe background:
I came up with this recipe when I got tired of eating edamame just boiled with salt (haha).

Steps
- 1
Place the edamame in a colander and rinse with water. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon salt over the pods and rub them together to remove the fuzz. Rinse again to wash off the salt.
- 2
In a bowl, mix the water and 2 tablespoons salt until dissolved. Add the edamame and let soak for about 10 minutes.
- 3
Drain the edamame and pat dry. Place them in a skillet over high heat and cook for 5 minutes, turning occasionally, until lightly charred.
- 4
Drizzle with sesame oil, toss to coat evenly, then sprinkle with salt to finish.
