In a bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, parsley, breadcrumbs, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon beef seasoning, and a pinch of nutmeg. Mix everything together very well. Shape the mixture into kofta fingers, cover, and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to marinate.

Fill a baking pan halfway with water and place it on the stove. Set a steamer basket or colander over the pan and arrange the kofta inside. Cover with a lid and steam for 10 minutes.

Once the water boils, remove the lid, turn the kofta to the other side, cover again, and steam for another 5 minutes. If you like, transfer the kofta to a baking sheet and broil for a few minutes to brown.

For a lighter version, serve as is without extra fat, or pan-fry in a little oil. Garnish with parsley and serve with pita bread, green salad, tahini sauce, or pasta as desired.
