Sambal Oelek is a spicy Indonesian chilli paste made from Chili Pepper or Chile that are from the Genus Capsicum. These peppers are an indispensable part of this flavourful paste.
But in this one as an innovative twist, I made this Sambal using Thai Bird Eye Chilli and Apple Cider Vinegar. Isn't that simply amazing? Well! It is! And look at the colour as well. It definitely looks awesome and stunning. The taste is also mind blowing.

Sambal Oelek is just Salt and Rice Vinegar with Chili Peppers blended into a flavourful paste. This can be stored for upto 2 Weeks in a refrigerator. In Indonesia, it is used as basic condiment much like how the Westerners use hot sauce. It's used in almost any and everything like in Toasts, Sandwiches, fried Rice, Noodles, Eggs, Fish, Steaks etc. Sambal is often described as hot and spicy Indonesian relish. However the Chili Peppers that are used in it's making are native to the America.
Apart from this basic version, some use other ingredients in it's making as well like Galangal, Garlic, Shrimps, Onions, Sugar etc. Anyways this one by me is a total innovative twist with Thai Bird Eye Chillies. And my family just loved it.

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
