An innovative twist by me to this famous Dessert Creme Brulee with the use of Dessicated Coconut and Custard powder. Isn't that something awesome? Well! Yes! Of course.
And trust me on that when I say that it was an excellent one all with the goodness of creamy Custard and luscious Coconut. It was way too flavourful and delicious.
The creaminess of the Custard blended very well with the Dessicated Coconut. My family loved it so much.
I just had this instant idea when I was thinking about the Golden Apron challenge and it's last day of this Week. I decided to do it right away in order to check for myself first before posting it.
It turned out to be super delicious and delightful. With charred Demerara Sugar on top, it looks beautiful. An instantly done no baked easy version full of sheer awesomeness.

Steps
- 1
Add milk, heavy cream, custard powder and sugar in a sauce pan and mix well. Bring it to a boil on a medium high heat at first. As soon as it starts boiling, lower the heat and simmer. Keep stirring all the while in order to prevent lumps in the custard mix. Also add our star ingredient, the dessicated coconut as well.
- 2
As soon as it thickens, take it off the heat. Add it to the ramekin moulds. Fill upto the brim almost. Allow it to refrigerate for an hour or so.
- 3
After chilled, add demerara sugar in each ramekin bowls. Using a flame thrower, burn the sugar so that it crystallizes. This burnt sugar on top lends this dessert a great twist.
- 4
Serve it right away. Break the caramelized sugar with the back of the spoon and dig in. The hard burnt sugar crystals takes this dessert to an altogether different level of satisfaction that only a dessert lover can feel. Yum! Enjoy!
