Til ka kalakand is a speciality from the States of Jharkhand & Rajasthan.

Sesame seeds are rich in calcium, magnesium & zinc which is important for bone health. It lowers blood pressure, helps in hormonal balance, improves memory hair & skin . They are a good source of protein also. They keep blood sugar in control ,helping in keeping the heart healthy & helps in digestion.

Ingredients

3 - 4 minutes
Makes 300 gms
  1. 1 1/2 cupsesame seeds
  2. 1/2 cuppowdered sugar
  3. 1/2 cupfresh malai (home - made fresh cream)
  4. 1/2 tspcardamom powder
  5. To garnish : 👇
  6. Dried Rose petals
  7. Grated almonds

Steps

  1. 1

    Dry roast sesame seeds in a pan till nice & crispy. Cool completely. Grind them to a coarse powder.

    Take fresh malai & powdered sugar in a bowl & beat it very well. First it will be a little loose ie liquidy but as you beat it,it will thicken & become white & creamy.

    Continue beating it till it becomes thick & when taken in a spoon, it does not fall easily in the bowl. This is the perfect cream that we want.

    Add coarsely ground sesame seeds powder & mix.

    Add milk powder & mix very well. Add cardamom powder & mix.(You can add any essence of your choice).

    Take the mixture in a lined tray. Level it with the back of a spoon. Garnish with grated almonds & dried rose petals. Cut into pieces & serve or store in an airtight container in the fridge.

    Note. : This recipe uses homemade fresh cream (malai) & involves no cooking at all except for roasting sesame seeds, so it is advisable to store it for a week at the most & not more.

    Important to note also : Use exact measurements for this recipe as stated above to make it a fool - proof dish.
