Preheat oven to 350 F. Lightly grease 8/8 pan.

In medium bowl, sift flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder, and espresso powder together and combine.

In small bowl, melt butter and add vegetable oil and 1/3 cup sugar. Mix thoroughly until most of sugar is melted.

In another medium bowl, combine eggs and remaining sugar. Whisk thoroughly.

Gradually temper the warm butter mixture into the egg mixture whisking constantly until combined.

Add dry mixture, chocolate chips, and pecans to wet mixture and stir until just combined. Do not over mix.

Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 32 minutes.

Allow brownies to completely cool on a cooling rack before slicing.
