Today, I made roasted sev from gram flour, which is an oil-free recipe and perfect for Paryushan. This roasted gram flour sev can be made at home for Ayambil tap. You can use this sev with roasted mamera or in recipes like dal, vegetables, kadhi, or other dishes during Ayambil.

Today, I made roasted sev from gram flour, which is an oil-free recipe and perfect for Paryushan. This roasted gram flour sev can be made at home for Ayambil tap. You can use this sev with roasted mamera or in recipes like dal, vegetables, kadhi, or other dishes during Ayambil.

Steps

Take 1 cup of gram flour, add salt to taste, 1 teaspoon of dry ginger powder, and a pinch of baking soda. Mix well. Then, gradually add water to bind the mixture into a dough suitable for making sev.

Now, take a sev maker and grease it with some gram flour. Fill the sev maker with the prepared dough, close it, and press it to extrude the sev into a dish.

Now, place a thick iron griddle or tava on high heat and put a non-stick pan or tava on it. Extrude the sev from the sev maker and roast it on the tava. Reduce the heat to medium-low and roast the sev, turning it gently to ensure even roasting.

Once the sev is roasted, place it on the edge of a plate to cool. If the sev feels soft, you can roast it again on the tava to crisp it up.

The prepared Ayambil special roasted sev can be used with mamera or in other recipes like dal, vegetables, kadhi, or other dishes during Ayambil. I have served the sev with mamera here.
