Ingredients

  • 1/2 kgChicken -
  • 2onion -
  • 2 tspsginger garlic paste -
  • 1tomato -
  • 5 - 6shallots -
  • curry leaves - few
  • coconut milk powder
  • 2 tspschilly powder -
  • 1 and half tspscoriander powder -
  • 1/2 tspgaram masala -
  • pinchturmeric powder - a
  • as requiredsalt -
  • chicken masala - for marination

Steps

  1. 1

    In a pan, heat oil and add onion finely chopped along with ginger garlic paste and shallots, thinly sliced. Fry till the onion is almost brown.

  2. 2

    Now add all the spice powders and mix well. Now add tomato thinly sliced and give a stir. Cook till tomato is mushy.

  3. 3

    Add the marinated chicken into this gravy. Mix well. Keep the pan closed. Do not add water, as water will be coming out of chicken. Sprinkle few curry leaves. Cook for about 35 minutes in medium flame. Keep checking in between and add little water if necessary.

    You can serve it as it is or if u want gravy, add coconut milk and boil for sometime.

  5. 5

    Chicken curry is ready to serve.
