How much cake batter in a pan?

I bake cakes ALL the time, here is helpful info as to not have to trim/layer pieces, bake each layer individually and barely have any waste!! (Average cake has 3/4 layers per Tier, next time I bake I'll photograph the progress!)
-If following my Doctored mix Recipe, it averages 21 (1/4cups) enough for 3 layers of an 8"pan.
