  • 2 cupsPeanuts
  • 1/2 cupMilk powder
  • 1 cupSugar
  • 1/2 cupWater
  • 1/4 teaspoonCardamom powder
  • 1 tablespoonGhee
  • a fewSaffron strands

Steps

    Dry roast peanuts until golden and aromatic. Cool, then remove skins.

    Grind peanuts coarsely, avoiding over-grinding to prevent oil release.

    Mix ground peanuts with milk powder, saffron, and cardamom powder. Set aside.

    In a pan, cook sugar and water until one-string consistency forms.

    Add peanut mixture to syrup, stirring to avoid lumps.

    Add ghee, cook and stir until mixture leaves pan sides.

  7. 7

    Test readiness by rolling a cooled bit into a ball; it shouldn’t stick.

    Spread mixture in a greased tray, flatten evenly.

    Cool completely, then cut into shapes or use moulds while warm.

Tips

Be careful not to overcook the mixture, as the Mandavi Paak can become hard once completely cooled.

Hi all, my name is Rekha. I am Indian by birth, born in Uganda, East Africa, I now live in Wilby, Northamptonshire/England.I retired at the age of 60 due to severe arthritis. I am married, a mother and grandmother.I learnt to cook from my parents at a very young age of seven. I started to cook simple dishes for the family and gradually learnt how to cook. My mum use to cook at our shop where we sold Indian sweets and savouries. I have learnt a lot from my mum. I started cooking fusion dishes and learning from others. My strong point is making sweet dishes and innovating new dishes. I can improvise and be creative in leftover dishes.I love being on Cookpad because I can share and learn new recipes. I have also made a lot of friends.
