CHURMA LADOO - a grainy Indian sweet made of sooji, sugar, and ghee... Especially made during the month of Shravan in the Pachkalshi households.
Steps
- 1
Bind together sooji, milk and ghee to form a stiff dough.
- 2
Form small balls (we call it muthe as the dough is pressed between the fists, known as मूठ in marathi).
- 3
In a kadhai, pour ghee as required and heat it. Add the muthe and fry till golden brown.
- 4
Break the muthe into small pieces. Add the muthe, sugar and cardamom powder to the mixer and grind it finely.
- 5
Roll into balls when the mixture is hot.
Tips
You need to roll the balls when the mixture is hot else the ladoos will not be formed.
