  • 1 lbGround Beef
  • 1 cupOnion, chopped
  • 1 cloveGarlic, crushed
  • 3 cupCabbage, finely shredded
  • 2 cupCelery, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cupSweet green pepper, chopped (optional)
  • 1 canTomato sauce, (7.5oz / 213mL)
  • 1 canDiced tomatoes, undrained (28oz / 796mL)
  • 1 canKidney beans, drained & rinsed (19oz / 540mL)
  • 1 tbspChili powder
  • 1 tspDried oregano
  • 1/4 tspHot pepper sauce (optional)

Steps

  1. 1

    In a large skillet, brown ground beef. Drain and discard fat.

  2. 2

    Add onion and garlic, cook for 5 mins.

  3. 3

    Add remaining ingredients. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and simmer, stirring occasionally for 45 mins or until vegetables are tender.
