preheat oven to 325°F

grease two ceramic baking mugs or cupcake tin

in one bowl mix sugar, oil, molasses, minced ginger, and eggs. beat until smooth

in another bowl mix flour, ground ginger, cinnamon, salt, and cloves
- 5
slowly beat flour mix into liquid mix until smooth.

in a small sauce pan bring water to a boil and mix in baking soda. beat into batter until smooth
- 7
split between two baking mugs and bake 40-55 minutes depending on cooking vessel
- 8
serve with your favorite ice cream
