Carnival Craving Funnel Cakes

Every summer when the carnival comes to town I get excited. Mainly because I know I'm able to get a funnel cake from there, but what's a girl to do in the winter? Do I have to wait for summer for a funnel cake? The answer is: NO.... So I decided to bring the carnival home and make the funnel cakes I crave every summer in my very own kitchen, I think you all will truly enjoy this recipe, I know my husband and I sure do!
Carnival Craving Funnel Cakes

So I decided to bring the carnival home and make the funnel cakes I crave every summer in my very own kitchen, I think you all will truly enjoy this recipe, I know my husband and I sure do!
Cooking Instructions

In one bowl combine your: flour, baking powder, salt and sugar

In a separate bowl combine: your 2 eggs (beaten), milk and vanilla extract

Get a mixer and mix all your ingredients together on medium speed for two minutes, slowly pour in your melted butter, scrape the sides of your bowl with the mixer ensuring you blend everything together well.

Pour your wet ingredients in the bowl with your dry ingredients, stir well until everything is mixed together.

Get a medium size pot and pour your vegetable oil or canola oil in it, heat your oil to 360° or until your oil is bubbling slightly

Get your funnel, plastic ziploc bag (gallon size) or squeeze bottle (batter pour/squeeze bottle) and put some of your batter it.

Pour funnel cake batter into your pot of hot oil, make it a very messy design or go in a circle many times to make your funnel cake design.

Allow your funnel cake to cook for 2-4 minutes on each side until it reaches a golden brown color use a fork to flip you funnel cake so it can cook well on each side.

Once your funnel cake is ready to be removed from the oil, take a plate lined with paper towels to drain the oil from your funnel cake, remove your funnel cake from the oil.

Sprinkle your powder sugar on top of your funnel cake, you may also add whatever your other favorite toppings are (i.e. strawberries, chocolate syrup, whipped cream) Enjoy!
