Ingredients

20 mins
  1. 1/2 cupboiling water
  2. 1/2 cupoil
  3. 5eggs
  4. 1 1/2 cupcastor sugar
  5. 2 cupall-purpose flour
  6. 4 tspbaking powder
  7. 1 tspvanilla essence

Steps

20 mins
  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 180°C

  2. 2

    Grease a large cake tin and set aside

  3. 3

    Mix boiling water and oil and set aside to cool.

  4. 4

    In a separate bowl beat eggs and castor sugar until just combined (do not overbeat)

  5. 5

    Add sifted flour and baking powder to egg mixture

  6. 6

    Add vanilla essence to the egg mixture and mix again

  7. 7

    Slowly add the water and oil mixture and mix until combined

  8. 8

    Pour into cake tin and bake for 20 min.

Hi there Amaarah, trust you doing well, tied your recipe unfortunately didn't turn out as our, hope you can assist me in where I went wrong. The text of the cake I baked is yellow in colour and the texture surely doesn't look as your does -mine as a much moister look if one can call it that please let me have your thought.
