Steps

In a medium bowl, combine cherries, pecans and 1/3 cup of the flour and toss to coat.

Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar.

Add the egg, buttermilk and vanilla and mix well.

Gradually add the rest of the flour, the bakng soda and salt and mix well.

Fold in the cherries/nut mixture and stir to combine.

Drop by the teaspoon on a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake at 350° for 10 to 15 minutes, until firm and as brown as you desire.
