preheat oven to 350°F

grease and lightly flower a 10 inch tub or hunt pan.

sift in flower and baking powder in a small bowl.

in a mixer with a paddle attachment cream butter, sugar and the inside of the vanilla bean keep skin set aside until light and fluffy

slowly add eggs one at a time to the creamed butter then on low add vanilla and rum.

slowly add flower mix then beat on medium for about 10 min.

put in pan and settle it bake for 55 min or till a tooth pick comes out clean.

set on a cooling rack in pan for 5 min then remove by running a knife along the edges of cake.
