Steps

preheat oven to 325°F

grease and flour a tube pan
- 3
cream shortening and butter together
- 4
gradually add sugar; continue creaming until light and fluffy

add eggs 1 at a time beating well after each addition

combine (sift together) flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa
- 7
add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour
- 8
stir in vanilla

pour into greased & floured tube pan

bake at 325°F for 1 hour and 15 minutes

cool on wire rack for 10 to 15 minutes

invert onto wire rack to remove
