preheat oven to 375°

cook 6 egg yolks by dropping them into hot boiling salted water. simmer until hard cooked.

sift together flour and salt into a bowl

in separate bowl cream together the shortening and sugar. beat until fluffy.

add egg yolks to creamed mixture after they have been put through a wine sieve.

now add the lemon

now add the cream.

very slowly add about 4 tbl. of the dry ingredients to the wet. then beat. repeat until all dry ingredients have been used.

roll out dough to about 1/8 inch thick. cut into xmas cookie shapes.

place cookies onto greased baking sheet.

decorate cookies..

(this dough may be put through a cookie press.

bake until edges become delicately browned. about 6-8 min. cool

makes about 5.5 dozen cookies.
