Ingredients

  1. 500 gramsstewing steak
  2. 330 mlale or stout
  3. 2 largecarrots
  4. 1 largeonion
  5. 800 gramspotatoes
  6. 250 gramschestnut mushrooms, quartered
  7. 2bay leaves
  8. 150 mlbeef stock
  9. 1 tbsptomato puree
  10. 2 tspwholegrain mustard
  11. 1 tbspworcestershire sauce
  12. 1 tbspolive oil

Cooking Instructions

    Heat oil in pan, fry beef till browned, set aside

  2. 2

    Fry onion till soft.

  3. 3

    Fry carrots and potatoes 5 minutes, transfer to slow cooker.

  4. 4

    Add beef, ale, stock, mushrooms, tomato puree, mustard, worcestershire sauce and bay leaves.

  5. 5

    Cook on high 6 - 8 hours, season to taste.
