Ingredients

  • 1/4 cupbutter/margarine
  • 2/3 cuppacked brown sugar
  • 1maraschino cherries
  • 1raisins (my addition)
  • 1 1/3 cupflour
  • 1 cupsugar
  • 1/3 cupshortening
  • 1 1/2 tspbaking powder
  • 1/2 tspsalt
  • 3/4 cupmilk
  • 1egg
  • 1vanilla essence (my addition)
  • 1syrup/juice from pineapple slices (my addition)
  • 8pineapple slices

    Preheat oven to 350

  2. 2

    In cake pan melt butter, then spread brown sugar over it evenly.

  3. 3

    Arrange pineapple slices and raisins over brown sugar, then place cherry in center of each one.

  4. 4

    Beat remaining ingredients (including juice/syrup) in large bowl with electric mixer.

  5. 5

    Pour batter over pineapples and cherries.

  6. 6

    Bake until toothpick comes out clean. Place plate over pan then turn over.
