Grease and line 21cm baking tin

Preheat oven to 180°c

Cream butter, sugar, , vanilla essence till light and fluffy

Add egg yolks one at a time. Beating well after each addition.

Sift the flour and baking power and stir in semolina gradually.

Beat egg whites until stiff peaks, stir into creamed butter mixture.

Add chopped almonds.

Bake for 45-55 minutes.
