Ingredients

  1. 1salt
  2. 23 yellow onions cut 1/4"
  3. 1vegetable oil (for frying)
  4. Coating wash
  5. 1/2 cupall-purpose flour
  6. 1/4 cupcornstarch
  7. 2 tbspinstant mashed potatoes
  8. 2 pinchcayenne pepper
  9. 1 cupcold club soda
  10. Coating
  11. 2 1/2 cupPanko ( Japanese-style breadcrumbs)

    Preheat oil to 350°F

  2. 2

    Combine coating wash ingredients, mix, and sit until thickened.

  3. 3

    Pour Panko bread crumbs into small pan

  4. 4

    Slice onions into 1/4" thick and separate into rings.

  5. 5

    Coat onions a few at a time with mix, then bread crumbs. Place on separate area. Repeat until finished.

  6. 6

    Fry until golden brown.
