Steps

At first marinate the prawns with turmeric powder and some salt. Keep them aside for 30minutes.

Heat some mustard oil in a wok and fry the prawns for approx 5mins. Don't overfry them else they will become chewy.keep them aside.

In the remaining oil, add the bay leaf, cumin seeds and the whole cardamom, cloves and cinnamon stick. Saute till the smell oozes out.

Add chopped onions and fry till they r golden brown.

Add half teaspoon of turmeric, ginger paste,cumin powder, coriander powder red chilli powder, salt as per taste and fry them till the raw smell disappears.

Add the prawns and mix them well for approx 2minutes.

Add the coconut milk and mix them well for 2minutes.

Add some water and mix them well. Cover the wok with a lid so that the prawns become soft.

Add the green chillies and a little bit of sugar.

Add the garam masala powder and mix it well. Check whether the prawns has become soft.

Remove it from the flame as soon as the gravy has come to the desired consistency.
