Potatoes n onions

Ive always made these potatoes. When i taught my daughter how to cook, this was the first thing she wanted to learn how to make. She perfected the crisp. Which isnt easy for a first timer but she did. We have potato wars here an there, and she hates when she over cooks. Haha!! If you try this. Upload your pics. Ill get one up soon. Thanks.

Steps

20 mins
  1. 1

Wash your potatoes and slice in semi thin slices. Not too thin, nothing too thick. Set aside.

  2. 2

Slice your onion and put with the potatoes.

  3. 3

Get a large skillet and put heat on med high. Put your oil in and let oil get hot. When oil is hot turn heat to med, and add your potatoes and onions. Be sure potatoes and onions are dry or you will be greeted with oil popping all over the place.

  4. 4

You want nice caramelized potatoes and your onions will sautee nicely. Now if u dont want to fully soften your potatoes and loose the crisp, dont add the water. They will soften but be crisp. If u want extra soft with little crisp, add just a little water. While potatoes are getting soft add ur seasoning to your liking. I dont add a whole lot of seasoning because it comes out perfect with just pepper and sea salt.

  5. 5

When potatoes start to soften i like to cover and turn heat down and stir occasionally. If u dont want them super soft then keep uncovered and turn down the heat just a little.

  6. 6

These are good as is or with a dish of your choice.

  7. 7

**Considering oil goes fast while cookn with potatoes, add more oil when you see it needs more. Or add water NOT COLD to the pan.
