Mix margarine/butter, sugar, milk, and cocoa together in a 4-quart saucepan.

Bring to a rolling boil and hold for one minute.

Remove from heat.

Add peanut butter to the hot mixture and stir until melted.

Add in vanilla.

Mix in oats and drop by tablespoonfuls onto wax paper.

Let cool until set.

Makes 24 cookies.
