Steps

In a large kadai heat 2 tbsp oil and add mustard, urad dal, 1 dried red chilli and few curry leaves. also add cumin and chana dal for more flavour.

Now saute till the mustard seeds splutter.add onion and saute well.also saute green chilli and ginger.

Now pour water and get to vigorous boil.add salt then keeping the flame on low start adding roast rava slowly, stirring continuously in another hand.

Now mix continuously till the rava absorbs water.cover and simmer on low flame for 5 minutes or till upma is cooked well.
