Ingredients

30 minutes
4 servings
  1. 2large potatoes
  2. 2medium size onion finely chopped
  3. 1 tspginger garlic paste
  4. 2large tomatoes finely chopped
  5. 1/2 cupgreen peas
  6. 1capsicum finely chopped
  7. 2 tbspbutter
  8. 1/4 tspred chilli powder
  9. 1/2 tspkashmiri red chilli powder
  10. 1/4 tsphaldi powder
  11. 2 tbsppav bhaji masala
  12. 1 tsplemon juice
  13. to tasteSalt
  14. 8pav buns
  15. as neededButter for pav
  16. as neededLemon wedges, chopped onion and chopped coriander for garnishing

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Firstly, pressure cook potatoes and peas. Then mash it very well. Keep aside.

  2. 2

    Heat butter in a pan. Add onion and ginger garlic paste. Cook till onion gets translucent.

  3. 3

    Add in the tomatoes and cook till it turn mushy.
    Then add capsicum, lemon juice and spices, mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add boiled and mashed potatoes and peas.
    Then add around 1/2 or 1 cup water.
    Cook until it reaches a desired consistency.

  5. 5

    Heat butter in a pan or tawa.
    Slit the pav, leaving one edge intact.
    Open the buns. Sprinkle some pav bhaji masala on heated butter and place the pav. Toast it for a minute.

  6. 6

    Garnish bhaji with lemon wedges, onion coriander and some butter.
    Serve it hot with toasted pav.
