Ingredients

2 servings
  • 1-2 tbspbesan
  • 1-2 tbspatop rice powder
  • 1 pinchnigella seeds
  • 3 tbsptamarind water
  • 1 pieceslit green chilli
  • 1 pinchturmeric powder
  • 1 tspsugar
  • Salt as required
  • 3 tbspmustard oil
  • 2 pcstender inner cone of the banana flower(cut it into slices)
  • To make mustard paste :-
  • 1 piecegreen chilli
  • 1 pinchsalt
  • 1 tspmustard oil
  • 2 tspmustard seeds
  • For deep fry:-
  • 1/2 cupmustard oil

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak the long slices with tamarind water and turmeric powder overnight.

  2. 2

    Boil them with a pinch of salt and drain the water.

  3. 3

    Keep aside.

  4. 4

    Heat oil in a kadai.

  5. 5

    Mix besan, rice powder, salt and water in a bowl.

  6. 6

    Add the boiled slices.

  7. 7

    Deep fry and set aside.

  8. 8

    Heat oil in a pan.

  9. 9

    Add nigella seeds for seasoning.

  10. 10

    Now add turmeric powder, slit green chilli, mustard paste, salt, sugar and saute for 10 seconds on a low flame.

  11. 11

    Add 1/4 cup water and let it boil.

  12. 12

    Now add the fried slices and the slit green chilli.

  13. 13

    Sprinkle 1 tsp of mustard oil until gravy becomes thick.

  14. 14

    Serve it with steamed rice.
