Green Pea Stuffed Idli

In a mixer grinder add boiled green peas, chopped ginger, chopped green chilli, chopped coriander leaves and a pinch of salt. Grind all these to a rough paste.

Transfer the green pea paste into a bowl.

Preheat the Idli Steamer with water.

Grease the idli moulds lightly with a few drops of vegetable oil. Fill in the moulds less than half with the idli batter. Drop a tbsp of green pea paste over the idli batter and spread it evenly as a single layer. Then top this layer with another round of the idli batter to get the moulds completely filled.

Now steam the idlies in the Idli Steamer for 15 minutes over a medium heat. Allow the steamed idlies to rest for few minutes. Then remove them from the moulds and cut them into halves.

Serve the green pea stuffed idli with sambar or tomato-onion chutney.
