Ingredients

  1. 1 stick(or less) margarine
  2. 1 cupsugar
  3. 1 cupflour
  4. 1 1/2 tsp.baking powder
  5. 1/4 tspsalt
  6. 1/2 cupmilk
  7. 1 cancherries, drained
  8. 3/4 cupsugar

    Melt margarine in baking pan.

  2. 2

    Combine 1 cup sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and milk in bowl, mixing well.

  3. 3

    Spoon into baking pan.

  4. 4

    Mix cherries with 3/4 cup sugar and 1 cup water, stirring to dissolve sugar.

  5. 5

    Pour over batter. Do not stir.

  6. 6

    Bake at 350 degrees until brown.
