For garadu masala :dry roast black pepper, cumin seeds, fennel seeds

In a grinder add roasted cumin seeds fennel seeds, black papar, sugar, black salt, red chilli powder, grind them and make a fine powder. Your garadu masala is ready.

Trim off the ends of garadu taking off the narrow tapering ends and use only the middle section. Grease a knife and peel

Sliced them into a circle

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai on high heat. Deep fry the garadu circle till they are light golden coloured and crisp. Drain and place on an absorbent paper.

Allow to cool completely. Chop into small bite sized squares

Heat oil. Fry garadu dices in small batches. Once they start turning golden brown, remove and drain on paper towels. Continue until all of the dices are fried.

Sprinkle garadu masala and lime juice generously and mix it well.

Tandy garadu chat is ready, serve hot.
