Mix all the ingredients except the shrimp and the white wine, in a blender until you have a smooth mixture.

Pour in a sauce pan over medium heat until the mixture starts to bubble and the sauce thickens.

Add the white wine (if adding) and the shrimp and let them simmer for few minutes. Do not overcook or the shrimp will shrink and become rubbery.
