Grilled Chili Salt Bánh Mì
Spicy and so satisfying!
Steps
- 1
Flatten the baguettes by rolling them with a glass bottle or rolling pin. Wash and finely chop the green onions. Peel and slice the hot dogs as you like.
- 2
For the scallion oil: Heat a little vegetable oil in a pan, add the chopped green onions, stir briefly, then remove from heat and transfer to a bowl. Set aside to brush on the bread later. For the grilling sauce: Melt the unsalted butter in a pan, then pour it into a bowl. Add 3 teaspoons chili satay sauce, 2 teaspoons chili sauce (add more if you like it spicier), and 2 teaspoons sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- 3
Use a brush to coat both sides of the flattened baguettes with the sauce you just made. Grill the bread over hot coals until both sides are golden and crispy.
- 4
Once the bread is grilled, brush a layer of scallion oil on top. Sprinkle with dried shrimp, pork floss, and sliced hot dogs. Drizzle with chili sauce and mayonnaise, then enjoy!
