Ingredients

  • 500gmutton/beef/chicken
  • 2-3 cuprice (wash& boiled)
  • 2boiled potatoes
  • 3/4 cupbrown onion
  • 1onion sliced
  • 1cinnamon
  • 2-3cloves
  • 1/2 tspwhole black pepper
  • 2star anise
  • 2brown Elaichi
  • 2-3green Elaichi
  • 2bay leaves
  • 2 tbspred chilli powder
  • 1 tsphaldi
  • 2-3 tbspdhanya powder
  • 3-4green chilies
  • 1 tspGaram masala
  • 1 tspjeera powder
  • 1 Tbspginger
  • 1 tbspgarlic
  • 1/2 cupGreek yoghurt
  • to tasteSalt
  • Chopped coriander and mint

Steps

  1. 1

    First boil mutton with whole Garam masala, sliced onion, ginger garlic, dhanya powder, cinnamon, cloves, star anise, green Elaichi, bay leaves, green chillies, salt and haldi.
    Once mutton is completely done add boiled potatoes, chilli powder, jeera powder, Garam masala, yoghurt, a pinch of sugar and crushed brown onions. Mix all together. Now add chopped coriander and mint.

    Now you can give charcoal Dum.
    After this take a pot and first layer of half-boiled rice then mutton mixture then again some chopped coriander and mint and crushed brown onion. Then layer again remaining rice.

    Sprinkle some orange food colour,coriander,mint and brown onion. Melt 2 tbsp ghee and pour over rice. Sprinkle some water. Cover and cook on slow flame until done.
