Whisk eggs in a dish shallow enough to dip the bread in to and add salt and pepper.

Place the ham and cheese in between the slices of bread then place in the egg mixture. Turn over so both pieces of bread are covered in egg mixture.

Transfer to a frying pan with oil on a high heat until golden brown and crisp. Serve immediately with lots of tomato sauce
