The potatoes can also be substituted with pumpkin, yam or sweet potato to suit your day's tastebuds.

Cut potatoes into cubes.

Fry cubed potatoes until slightly golden brown, and remove from pan.

Use mortar and pestle to pound onion, garlic, salt, parsley until nicely blended but not smooth. (You may also use a blender.) Transfer onto a big bowl.

Mash fried potatoes.

Combine mashed potatoes together with pounded ingredients, and roll into balls.

Beat egg onto a bowl.
- 7
Dip balls in beaten egg and fry balls until crispy.
