This is very famous recipe from orissa . It is very easy to make recipe .
Steps

First soak rice and urad dal for about 6 hours In separate bowls.Wash and drain.

Take a grinder and grind urad dal and rice separately and make fine paste. Then mix grinded dal and rice together.

Now add green chilli and ginger paste,carom seeds,salt and baking powder. Mix well.

Take a pan,add oil. When oil is getting,put small portion of batter with spoon.And make small - small varas. Fry until they becomes light golden brown.

Chaula varas are ready.Serve hot with chutney.
