Ingredients

  1. 250 gmsfresh paneer (in a pan add one tbsp oil and fry the paneer till light to golden brown and set aside)
  2. 1big opinion finely chopped
  3. 2big tomatoes (make purée in a mixer grinder and set aside)
  4. 2green chilli slit
  5. 1 tbsginger garlic paste
  6. 1 tbscoriander leaves
  7. 40 gms / 1 cup tightly packed methi leaves chopped (soak in water with salt to eliminate the bitterness from methi leaves)
  8. 1/4 th cup curd whisked well
  9. Halfcup water
  10. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  11. 1/2 tspchilli powder
  12. 1 tspcoriander powder
  13. 2 pinchgaram masala
  14. To tasteSalt
  15. 3 tbsoil
  16. Whole spices
  17. 1bay leaf
  18. 1 (1 inch)cinnamon stick
  19. 2cloves
  20. 2green cardamoms
  21. 1black cardamom

Steps

  1. 1

    In a non stick pan heat oil. Add the whole spices and sauté for few seconds till they become fragrant

  2. 2

    Add chopped onions and fry till golden brown on low to medium flame

    Add finger garlic paste and green chilli. Sauté well for few minutes

    Add tomato purée and fry well for few minutes till the raw aroma goes away

    Add coriander and fry for 2-3min

  6. 6

    Add turmeric, chilli, coriander and garam masala and fry for 3-4min

    Add in the chopped methi leaves and cook for 5 min

    Turn the flame off and add the whisked curd and stir well

    Add 1/2 cup water and mix again

  10. 10

    Keep the pan on stove top on low flame. Cover and cook for 10-15 min till you can see oil specks on top

  11. 11

    Add paneer cubes and salt and mix well

  12. 12

    Cover and cook for 5 min
