Steps

Wash and soak both pulses for 15 minutes.

Add salt and turmeric powder and boil till soften.

In pressure cooker it takes 8..9 minutes to boil and in pan it would take 20 minutes.

Meanwhile in a pan heat ghee.and add heeng and cumin seeds.

Add chopped tomatoes,ginger and green chillies and fry well till soften.

Add kasoori methi, pepper powder and garam masala powder.

Mix this masala mix in boiled daal and cook for 5 minutes more to simmer.

Serve hot with chapati
