Ingredients

30 minutes
  1. 8.8 ozmaccheroni (250 grams)
  2. 1/2 cupsugar (100 grams)
  3. 1 cupcoarsely chopped walnuts (150 grams)
  4. 1/4 cupAlchermes liqueur (60 ml)
  5. 1 1/2 tablespoonssambuca (20 ml)
  6. 1 1/2 tablespoonsrum (20 ml)
  7. 1 shotespresso or strong coffee (about 1/4 cup)
  8. 1 pinchcinnamon and nutmeg
  9. Grated zest of 1 lemon
  10. 1.75 ozfinely chopped dark chocolate (50 grams)
  11. 1/4 cupunsweetened cocoa powder (25 grams)
  12. 1/2 cupplain breadcrumbs (50 grams)

Steps

30 minutes

    Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, as you would for regular pasta.

    In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, breadcrumbs, chocolate, cocoa powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon zest, coffee, and the mix of liqueurs.

    Stir everything together with a spoon until the mixture is nice and moist.

    Drain the pasta, reserving a little of the cooking water. Add the hot pasta to the mixture and mix well. If it seems too dry, add a bit of the reserved cooking water (I didn’t need to add any).

    Refrigerate until completely chilled. Enjoy your dessert!

    P.S. Be sure to cook the pasta until it’s very soft, not al dente!
