Ingredients

  • 750 gramsFresh and cold Curd
  • 1 cupSplit Bengal gram
  • 1/4 teaspoonRoasted cumin powder
  • 1Onion
  • 1Green chilli
  • 2 pinchesRed chilli powder
  • 2 pinchesBlack pepper powder
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1/4 teaspoonTurmeric powder

Steps

10 minutes
  1. 1

    Wash gram dal thoroughly and soak it in water and keep it for 4 hours.

    Put 1 cup of water, turmeric, salt, and lentil in the cooker and put it on the flame and bring one whistle.

  3. 3

    Open the lid when steam leaves the cooker.

  4. 4

    Strain the dal with a large sieve and keep it cool down.

    Chop onion and green chilli.

    Now strain the curd with a sieve.
    Add lentils, onions, chilli and dry masala and mix well.

  7. 7

    Chana Raita is ready.

    Note- Do not throw away the remaining water of pulse and use it to knead the dough.

    You can also make a soup by adding cumin seeds, and lemon juice.
