Instant Sweet Appams | Kerala Recipe

Mix flours in a bowl.

In a mixer jar take coconut, jaggery, banana and cardamom pods and grind to paste. Can add milk or water to do so.

Add to the flour mix.

Add milk and mix to get a thick batter.

Heat a teaspoon of ghee in a tadka pan and add sesame seeds, heat and let splutter.

Add to the appam batter.

Mix well. Cover and leave for some time. Approximately 15-30 minutes.

Heat an appam pan, I am using a nonstick pan for this. Add few drops of ghee.

Pour the batter in the cavities cover and let cook for 2-3 minutes. Once the bottom part of appam looks golden, flip and cook on other side, use a sharp knife or a skewer to do so.

Once cooked well on both sides, remove carefully using a skewer.

Serve immediately and enjoy hot.
