Place a sauce pan on the heat and add water, crushed ginger and cardamoms, black tea and bring to a boil.

Allow it to simmer, for a good 5-6 minutes, till the colour of water change to a mild yellowish hue.

Then add sugar, simmer for 2 minutes till the water turns red and the sugar has dissolved.

Finally add milk and simmer 2 -3 minutes more, turn off heat and strain the tea through a sieve and pour into a cup, and serve adrak elaichi chai.
