Rasam without garlic
It's a most basic and essential dish in south india
Steps

Add a pinch of turmeric to dhal and cook it and mash it.

Add the cooked dhal broth to a pan. Add water, Tomato and tamarind

Allow to boil. Grind pepper and cumin. When you see the froth add the powder

Don’t cook too much after adding the powder. Add the mashed dhal
- 5
Now temper it with mustard seeds in ghee. Add it to the rasam. Add required salt and garnish with coriander leaves
