Homemade sweetened condensed milk
Creamy and yummy
Steps
- 1
Mix the milk, sugar, and water. Making sure the milk dissolves
- 2
Set on low heat, in a non-stick pan. Use a big one as the mixture might overflow at a point
- 3
Continue to turn, scrapping the fat that forms from the pan and whatever lumps might have formed
- 4
Continue to turn till half of the initial quantity is remaining
- 5
Add a pinch of baking soda
- 6
Continue with the same process till the the most of the water has evaporated and you have a quarter of the mixture left. You can bring down off heat to cool
- 7
Or you stir a little more for more thickness. Mind you it gets thicker as it's cooling
- 8
Store in an airtight glass jar, in a fridge.
- 9
Can be served with pastries, etc or enjoyed alone
